SquadChess

SquadChess is a variation on traditional Chess in which players may move multiple pieces with each turn.

Pieces are grouped into "squads" based on squad leader (King/Queen) and class (Pawns/Officers). With each turn a player may move a full squad instead of just one individual piece.

This introduces new gameplay dynamics and additional layers of strategy, making possible attacks and defenses that are unavailable or impractical in traditional Chess.

Moving four pieces per turn also hastens the pace of gameplay — while traditional Chess typically lasts between ten and sixty minutes for casual games, a comparable SquadChess match might last between five and twenty minutes.
